If you've landed on this website, you've likely heard of Bulletproof Hitches, and you likely think they are made in the USA.
Philip Lambert and Chris Pimlott are the owners of Bulletproof Hitches.
They came from the United Kingdom and are falsely advertising their products as being made in the USA.
Bulletproof Hitches imports tens of thousands of products from China nearly every month.
Bulletproof imported some products between 2018 and 2020 under their own name.
Realizing the information might leak, Bulletproof stopped importing directly in 2020. However, Bulletproof continues to import parts through P&C Imports.
Ironically (but not too cleverly), P(hilip)&C(hris) imports is not registered to either Brit. This is where the twisted web starts. In an elaborate plan to try and conceal their operation process, numerous businesses are set up with numerous different registered officers. We tried to break it down in a series of images below.
Bulletproof manufactured their products in the USA for a brief period of time. They now import a vast majority (if not all) from overseas. These imported products are sold to YOU THE CONSUMER as "Made in America".
We were able to contact an ex-employee of Bulletproof and they identified that some of the job functions at the Bulletproof facility in Florida included removing the "Made in China" stickers from products.
Oddly enough, the products themselves are not labeled with ANY country of origin yet Bulletproof makes numerous claims (responses to reviews on Google, Facebook advertisements, etc.) that the products are Made in USA.
If you don't believe us, please click the button below and contact them for yourself. Ask them where the products are made. We've tried this on numerous occasions, and the response is always the same..."Our products are made in America" or "Our products are made in the USA". Why not label the box with Made in USA? Many products that are actually made in the USA are proudly (and rightfully so) branded right on the packaging. Many of us don't mind spending more money for a product that is made in America, compared to a similar product that was imported.
Bulletproof's two main Chinese manufacturers are:
Hangzhou Hongli Machinery Manufacturing Company
Ningbo Fortune Time International Trade Company
Federal Register :: Country of Origin Marking

" Section 304(a) of the Tariff Act of 1930 (hereinafter “Tariff Act”), as amended (19 U.S.C. 1304), provides that unless excepted, every article of foreign origin imported into the U.S. shall be marked in a conspicuous place as legibly, indelibly, and permanently as the nature of the article (or its container) will permit, in such a manner as to indicate to the ultimate purchaser in the U.S. the English name of the country of origin of the article. Part 134, Customs Regulations (19 CFR part 134), implements the country of origin marking requirements and the exceptions of 19 U.S.C. 1304. "
Complying with the Made In USA Standard (ftc.gov)

Examples of fraudulent practices involving imports include removing a required foreign origin label before the product is delivered to the ultimate purchaser (with or without the improper substitution of a Made in USA label) and failing to label a product with a required country of origin.

Reviews online show heavy praise for the American company selling products that are made in the USA. Bulletproof often responds to these reviews saying how proud they are to sell American made products. Practically the only processes that happen in the USA with there products are; 1. Made in China stickers are peeled off, 2. Inventory is stored, 3. Orders are fulfilled, 4. Customer service
Bulletproof advertising is centered around setups like these featuring custom trucks and American flags. They want you to associate their hitches with America, even though the owners are from England and the products are made in China.
Bulletproof's newest ads still falsely advertise "high quality American Products". Ad titles are often "American Made" for search engine optimization
Another recent ad showing the SEO "American Made" labeling of the ad campaign
2016 - About Bulletproof explains that their products are made in Florida. At that time they were.
This is the foundation that thy used to build their made in USA image.
Poor quality, high costs, increasing demands, excessive tax burdens were all factors that led Bulletproof to change their company from American made to made in China. This is a textbook case of bait and switch.
2021 - FAQ falsely claims hitches are made in America
2022 - FAQ falesly claims hitches are made in America
Made in USA image still present on the website in 2021 (falsely)
2024 - made in America question removed from FAQ and the Made in USA removed from the sticker at the bottom. The American flag is still posted strongly.
This makes me sick that filthy foreigners deceive American citizens by offering cheap shit Chinese products and continue to falsely advertise that they are made in USA.
FUCK BULLETPROOF
